Structural and radiation shielding simulation of B2O3–SiO2–LiF–ZnO–TiO2 glasses

Penta-glasses with a 59B2O3–29SiO2–2LiF–( $$10-x$$ ) ZnO– $$x$$ TiO2 composition the melt-quench techniques were prepared. X-ray diffraction was used to examine nature of fabricated glasses. The changes in structure glasses studied by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy spectra. molar volume reduces as density increases. mechanical characteristics these evaluated. Besides, for glasses, Phy-X/PSD and XCOM program investigate radiation shielding efficiency. These found have an abnormal attenuation, structural, relationship. Glasses' mass attenuation coefficient (MAC), linear (LAC), half-value layer (HVL), tenth value (TVL), effective atomic number (Zeff) designed simulate gamma photon energies ranging from 0.015 15 meV. MAC values determined compared observed good agreement other.
